The angst arc has arrived in #KDrama #LoveScout It was 10,000% predictable, having been telegraphed from near the beginning with the delicate subtle finesse of drunken elephants fighting, BUT I'm still fine with it. Because it's arrived halfway through episode 9/12. Which it means it simply cannot be dragged on ad infinitum, as would be the case in a 16 ep Drama. Less really is MORE (bearable)

Starting #KDrama #LoveScout straight after #DongJaeTheGoodOrTheBastard without even realizing they have the same ML. I like him, but I was SUPER excited to see Song Young Kyu. Or rather, to HEAR him.

I was disappointed that it was just another guest role for the actor I think of as The Voice. Checking his MDL page shows that I am far from alone in finding his voice both distinctive and sexy. I fell in love with his voice the first time I heard it, really wish he'd get to use it more

Sure #LoveScout had its flaws: the 2ML and 2FL were cute but not really fully fleshed out, feel like their connection never peaked and their conclusion was just a tie-off— but hey, not that big of a deal to complain about. I have never really followed Han Ji-min— her drama Behind Your Touch (which I started watching because of Lee Min-ki) is stalled on my watchlist— she was good but not great (reminded me of SHK in NWABU but with more feelings?) Fortunately 1ML gave this drama the needed oomph.

#WhenthePhoneRings was interesting in the first couple of episodes until it just lost me with the FL storyline. I just hate it when the female character is a damsel in distress to the point of ridiculousness. The ML too, was wattpadd-character predictable. I pushed until halfway through the series before totally losing interest. #LoveScout though, was refreshingly grounded and did not overexert itself (problems were problems but were not overblown to end of the world proportions). #kdrama

A train-analogy for watching kdrama.
I ´m ex-trainworker after all.

I was in slow-train Love Scout, episode 4
But fast-moving, exciting The Queen Who Crowns passed by, I jumped in that train .
Left that train at the end, including ep 13 and 14.
Moved back to slow-train, in another carriage : Motel California.
Till episode 9, then walked to the other carriage with Love Scout, ep 6 now,
Same train, two dramas.
But train is moving !

#kdrama I was fully prepared to hate/drop but ended up enjoying:

1. #100DaysMyPrince
2. #DaliandtheCockyPrince
3. #TheMemorist
4. #Moving
5. #LoveScout
6. #Reply1988
7. #AKoreanOdyssey
8. #MyLovefromtheStar (largely because of Jun Ji-hyun- she carried this drama like she also did with TLOTBS 🙂↕️)
9. #FlexXCop
10. #VampireDetective
11. #TemperatureofLove
12. #PrivateLives
13. #AWitchsLove (probably the only PSJ drama I watched in its entirety)
14. #DiaryofaProsecutor
15. #BloodFree

I started watching and got it into my head that Lee Jun-hyuk looks a lot like Kang Tae-oh, but then I looked at pictures of them and realized that it’s really just that the Mr. Wonderful character in LS reminds me of Attorney Woo’s boyfriend 😂

One of my favourite things about this drama is how kind and soft and gentle the single dad ML is. That's definitely going against the stereotypes. It's also lovely to watch a romance with no serial killers. There are "villains" but not to the extent of many shows.
The other romance I'm greatly enjoying is #MotelCalifornia which has a really great vibe. The design elements are really unique. Again, no horrible elements to add unnecessary stress to the show.

Love Scout.
2025 , 12 episodes

Expecting a lovey dovey modern kdrama using too familiar tropes, with extra sweeteners.
But it starts masculine, with a leading lady used to reach her business- goals in her ways , being interupted.

All in a high-tech atmosphere.
While male out there in real life fighting it out, I understand there are also plenty of women on vital positions in the same field. I guess there could be some accuracy in this drama .🙂

I'm mostly alternating between #sewing and #kdrama these days although I ventured out to watch my grands dance yesterday. On Saturday, I met my bestie after shopping for sewing goods at a Korean-owned café where I ordered in #korean. Learned a helpful shopping dialogue last night.
I binged #TheTraumaCodeHeroesOnCall the last couple of days and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys action-packed medical dramas.
Also enjoying ongoing dramas: #LoveScout
#WhenTheStarsGossip
#MotelCalifornia.

After 2+ weeks of serious inertia, it's been a rather sudden return to activity. The last 2 days included a lovely weekly winter walk with BFF, work, and a learn-to-serge class at the local fabric recycler. Yesterday was a full day of sewing at a local fabric shop, and supper at IKEA where #YEGBike pal Kubie was enjoying the night sky with his beloved.
Then, my in-person #Korean class where I was locked out of the building for 40 minutes and watching #LoveScout with my #kdrama bestie.
Phew!

I'm watching both & both seem like they are going to be good.

In "Love Scout" there is a wonderful single dad & the chemistry - if the encounter in the file room is any indication - will be very good. I like the twist on the trope with a cold, demanding female CEO who has trauma, and the caring male secretary.

"When The Stars Gossip" is star-studded, crazy, bizarre, & hilarious so far. If it goes off the rails, I doubt anyone will notice.

You'll have to decide what mood you're in.
