Pained glass
An old Gothic cathedral
that once was ablaze
in a riot of colors
that left the eye dazed —
now just naked bare bones
in blank tones of white
that softly glow on their own
from the velvet of light.
But I still can touch colors
in my inner sight,
taking me far, far back
past uncounted nights
to hear scenes so long ago
when this church was young
and the colors were tasted
on the eyes’ parched tongues.

"You won’t believe this long exposure metering trick"
In my latest photo/tech blog post I'm poking fun at clickbait headlines, but not only that! I also share my approach to reliably and easily meter long exposures with a 10-stop ND filter. :)

I couldn't decide if I liked the black and white or color edit better, so… why not both?

In the stone transept
two women sit,
adore the Virgin
with candles lit.
They pay no heed
to the passerby,
a gliding ghost
who lets a sigh
escape her rags
of ancient weave:
Centuries ago
she took her leave
of this green earth,
then buried here
where once had stood
a church, a mere
house of wood
and wattle and daub
with peaked thatched roof
and floor of sod.
