Silly #LinkedOpenData contribution of the day (month? year?): adding #Caltech’s iconic Fleming Cannon to #OpenStreetMap and #Wikidata.

openstreetmap.org/node/1288060

wikidata.org/wiki/Q134691289

Luckily, there’s an existing Wikimedia Commons category for the cannon so it didn’t seem silly to also add it in OSM and Wikidata.

It’s debatable whether the cannon should be mapped in OSM because it is mobile, but I’ve read it often stays in front of its namesake Fleming House so on the map it goes!

🗓️ Two months into the new job and it’s been a whirlwind! I’m working on a project around Mesopotamian seals & sealings — expanding a big database 📚.

Right now I’m: 👥 Coordinating the Berlin team 🖥️ Setting up the project website 📋 And juggling many major tasks

Still commuting 🚆 for now, but things are starting to click into place. Feeling more settled every week!
