When making red lentil soup, of any variety, remember to rinse the lentils off in the water in a fine-mesh strainer or colander! While rinsing, I also recommend soaking even red #lentils for 5-15 minutes. Technically you don't need to, since they are split and cook quickly, but Ive found it cause a lot less flatulence ... and always drink a lot of water, it's good for you! ❤️ #vegan #cooking #lentilsoup

What's your best go-to cheap meal? For me, lentil soup with brown bread. The soup is onions, carrots, celery, green pepper, a little courgette, lentils and stock, and - the secret flavour weapon - parsley. Or you can make a version with onions, celery, garlic and a tin of tomatoes. The brown bread can be simple brown soda scones - brown & white flour, bread soda and buttermilk (or lapte bătut or zer from Polish shop) #LentilSoup #SodaBread
