The L.A. Public Library commissioned me and a writing team to adapt Octavia E. Butler's the Parable of the Sower into a Fate RPG. We're running portions of it at the Octavia Lab at the LAPL Central Branch in DTLA on 12/14! If you're a fan of the novel or Fate, sign up and roll dice with us!

I learned about (yet another!) free resource you can get at #LAPL: they have online access to all of the Gale “Business Plans Handbook” books. These are books full of specific, real-world business plans that you can read and riff on for your own situation. You can search by topic or business type across all 50 editions. Sweet! lapl.org/gale-ebooks (it looks like this collection is available at many other libraries, too) #ILoveTheLibrary

Following up: this week’s Sugar episode did not disappoint, and Detective Story is not really a noir film. It’s a very good film, mind you - quite dramatic - but not noir. I think that people look at movies that are black and white, from the 40’s or 50’s, and have cops in them and think that’s noir. Nope. But a good movie, nonetheless. Available on Kanopy. Thanks, #LAPL!
