A #yukon #Klondike #history story I didn't know, or at least didn't pay attention to prior to this article from the Smithsonian, "The Enterprising Woman Who Built—and Lost, and Rebuilt—a Booming Empire During the Klondike Gold Rush". Irish born Belinda Mulrooney built the Grand Forks Hotel in 1897 in Bonanza City, the only municipality in the Yukon aside from Dawson at the time.
