De ArcheoloogDeze week kwam het nieuws naar buiten dat in het Belgische <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Herstal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Herstal</a> (bij Luik) tussen juli 2024 en februari 2025 resten van de <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Karolingische" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Karolingische</a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/palts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#palts</a> (paleis) zijn ontdekt. Het gaat om funderingen van een <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/kerk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#kerk</a> en tientallen (kinder)graven en kalkstenen <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/sarcofagen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#sarcofagen</a>. De resten in de sarcofagen blijken uit de periode 650 - 780 n. Chr. te dateren. Komm. für bay. Landesgesch.Heute vor 1125 Jahren wurde der letzte <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/karolingische" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#karolingische</a> Herrscher des <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ostfr%C3%A4nkischen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#ostfränkischen</a> Reiches, Ludwig das Kind (900–911), in der fränkischen Königspfalz <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Forchheim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Forchheim</a> gekrönt. De ArcheoloogIn de Sint-Pietersabdij in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Gent" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Gent</a> begint volgende week een overzichtstentoonstelling rond <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Judith" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Judith</a>, de eerste gravin van <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Vlaanderen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Vlaanderen</a> en het skelet dat mogelijk van haar is. Ook ontdekten ze de <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/gracht" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#gracht</a> van waarschijnljk een hoeve uit de 11e of 12e eeuw. Gevonden <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/wetstenen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#wetstenen</a> en <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/maalstenen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#maalstenen</a> zijn een bewijs van de landbouwactiviteiten in het gebied in de vroege <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/middeleeuwen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#middeleeuwen</a>. <a href="https://www.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/dmf20240905_96974512" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank">https://www.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/dmf20240905_96974512</a>

De ArcheoloogIn het Belgische <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Glabbeek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Glabbeek</a> hebben <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/archeologen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#archeologen</a> twee <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/pottenbakkersovens" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#pottenbakkersovens</a> uit de vroege <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/middeleeuwen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#middeleeuwen</a> blootgelegd. De werkgroep heeft de <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/gemeente" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#gemeente</a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Schagen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Schagen</a> waarin Warmenhuizen ligt herhaaldelijk gevraagd om hier <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/archeologisch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#archeologisch</a> onderzoek te doen. Helaas negeerde de gemeente dit en ontloopt ze haar wettelijke verantwoordelijkheid.(1)

De ArcheoloogIn <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/OostSouburg" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#OostSouburg</a> in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Zeeland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Zeeland</a> hebben archeologen sporen van 13e- en 14e-eeuwse bebouwing opgegraven.
