Jim Bodie<p>Got myself a region free Blu-ray player this week. Now, for the first time, I can watch one of my Region 2 (PAL) DVDs on my TV and not just on my computer.</p><p>This is one of 2 favorite Mel Gibson movies (tied with Gallipoli) staring a young Mel Gibson before he went loony, a young Sam Neill before he went to Jurassic Park and a young John Phillip Law before you all said who the hell is John Phillip Law??</p><p>It&#39;s a great movie about ANZAC special forces during WWII.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/AttackForceZ" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>AttackForceZ</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/JimsMovies" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>JimsMovies</span></a></p>
Jim Bodie<p>I sometimes watch movies at work. I can only watch DVD. I have a Blu-ray drive on my Linux workstation, but I never got the Blu-ray software working. Recently I watched 100+ &quot;classic&quot; and drive-in movies from 3 cheap DVD sets I bought years ago. It was 50 Classic Sci-Fi, 50 Sci-Fi Invasion and 32 Drive-In Cult Classics. Some were good, and some were so very very not good. I got lots of work done while those were playing. Now it&#39;s back to music via Spotify.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Work" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Work</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Movies" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Movies</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/JimsMovies" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>JimsMovies</span></a></p>
Jim Bodie<p>I managed to list 7 video games to know me, and though of about 20 more and then 20 more. I forgot Gauntlet and millipede, and pitfall, and many others! </p><p>The one I would have a lot of trouble narrowing down to 7 is the movies. I&#39;m not even sure if I could narrow it down to 17. Number 1 is easy, &quot;Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope&quot;, although when I first saw it, it was just &quot;Star Wars&quot;. Everything after that is negotiable.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Movies" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Movies</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/TooManyMovies" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TooManyMovies</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/JimsMovies" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>JimsMovies</span></a></p>
Jim Bodie<p>My latest books and movie purchase arrived today. The Bond movie was only 8 bucks, can&#39;t pass that up. It completes my collection of all of the Bond movies. Despite liking all versions of the movie, I have never read All Quiet on the Western Front. Now I can rectify that.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Books" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Books</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Movies" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Movies</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/JimsBooks" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>JimsBooks</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/JimsMovies" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>JimsMovies</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/JimBoughtStuff" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>JimBoughtStuff</span></a></p>
