It burns my biscuits and scorches my gravy not having OTA reception.😡

I really miss having OTA TV reception. Where we have lived since 2019, we get zero channels. We probably wouldn't have bought this house and moved here had we known that.

There is no reasonable antenna that will pull reception, either.

My brother has fiber and I have been putting off building a box to stick #NextPVR, #JellyFin and my TV tuner cards in so I could stream OTA from his home two hours away and record TV again. There was a lot of sub channels, like movies, etc in our old region where he lives, which is technically ours, too.

🪼 Os melhores players para Jellyfin:

:xp_my_computer: Jellyfin Media Player
:xp_network_connections: jellyfin.org/downloads

:android: Findroid:

New #Jellyfin version is looking and working great, even on a cheap (and old) thumbdrive-sized #Roku stick.

I'd stick these everywhere if it weren't for the ads Roku increasingly shovels in.

Wake up, noticed #jellyfin app updated on #roku. Neat. Try to run toddlers fav content. Major issues with ui. Weird. Hunt online, see suggestions to update server. Reasonable. Do so. Restart all things. Looks good. Open item. Error playing. Hmm. Check server. External drive not mounted. Try to mount. Unknown error. *sratches head. Troubleshoot and spend a good hour exploring options. Hunting info in terminal. Found solution. Happy toddler. Weird ass Saturday morning.

Decided to play around with #Jellyfin and #AutomaticRippingMachine after I noticed that my Netflix bill hit nearly $18 USD.

Early attempts have yielded mixed outcomes, though. Jellyfin works great, but #ARM has been a pile of problems. Running in an LXC or qemu VM presented issues with optical pass through. I switched to a bare metal install, but it still refuses to successfully rip TV shows or audio CDs; only DVD movies work correctly.

I feel like I'm making progress, though, and will continue to troubleshoot until I succeed, or give up and just put a DVD into a normal player like a caveman.
