Drehbuchautor <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_J._Hammond" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Peter J. Hammond</a>. Der könnte beim Schreiben schon 76 Jahre alt gewesen sein. Diese nun 19 Jahre alte Folge erreichte über ZDFneo mal wieder fantastische 10% Marktanteil. Wie kommt das bloss?Die alte Erkenntnis von Asterix und Obelix “Die spinnen, die Briten” ist selbstverständlich Fundament des erfolgreichen Exports dieser Endslosserie des britischen Privatsenders ITV. Und diese Folge besonders. Stellen sich die Londoner*innen so das britische Dorfleben da draussen vor? Muss wohl. Das Bergheim bei Köln oder die Halskrause des Rhein-Sieg-Kreises um Bonn dürften im Vergleich zum fiktiven “Midsomer” urbane Idyllen sein (jedenfalls alle Dörfer, die einen Bahnhof oder eine Stadtbahnhaltestelle haben). Und selbst <a href="https://kirchhellen.de/startseite.html" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Kirchhellen</a>, wo ich als Schüler meinem ersten Alkoholmissbrauch nachgekommen bin, und wo heute <a href="https://extradienst.net/2021/07/31/der-mensch-als-wolf-und-die-woelfe/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">der böse Wolf frei rumlaufen soll</a> …Die Spitze dieser Folge markiert <a href="https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Spriggs" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Elizabeth Spriggs</a>, in der Rolle der Ursula Gooding, die zwei Jahre nach dem Abdrehen dieser Barnaby-Folge aus dem wahren Leben ging. Vor ihr mochte mann auf der Stelle Reissaus nehmen. Nicht minder ihr von <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Cant" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Richard Cant</a> gespielter diabolischer Erbschleicher, nach dessen fiktivem Händedruck ein spontaner Waschzwang aufkommen würde.Wer noch ein Restgefühl für soziales menschliches Zusammenleben bewahrt hat, kann diese Barnaby-Folge als Horrorfilm nehmen. Vier Jahre später stieg Hauptdarsteller John Nettles aus, Produzent Brian True-May wurde gefeuert. Und erstmals kamen im Barnaby Brit*inn*en vor, die gar nicht weiss waren. Aber eben auch nicht so bekloppt

Warum? Der wohlmeinendste Grund könnte sein, dass der Film von <a href="https://www.imdb.com/de/name/nm4485642/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Stephen Faigenbaum</a> schon drei Jahre alt (aber immer noch brandaktuell) ist. Ich kannte ihn noch nicht. “<a href="https://www.arte.tv/de/videos/101942-000-A/dem-amerikanischen-traum-so-fern/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Dem amerikanischen Traum so fern: Newark USA</a> – Der Film erzählt die Geschichte der ethnisch gemischten Arbeiterstadt Newark, Ausgangspunkt des Kampfs für die Bürgerrechte in den 1960er Jahren, aus der Perspektive von zwei dort aufgewachsenen bedeutenden Autoren. Newark, die größte Stadt im Bundesstaat New Jersey, ist so etwas wie das industrielle Vorzimmer des glitzernden New York auf der anderen Seite des Hudson-River.”. Die USA sind besonders, New York ist besonders. Und besonders Newark.Das irre Montags-QuotenrennenGanz anders geht es bei den Seniorensendern ARD und ZDF zu. Die ARD ist seit Jahrzehnten verzweifelt, weil das ZDF Krimis senden kann, wie es will: eine einfache Mehrheit schaltet sie um 20.15 h ein. Kein Tatort-Niveau, nichts brutales und blutiges und am Ende siegen immer die Guten. Letzten Montag guckten wieder über 4 Mio. zu. Das reicht für den Tagessieg. Und summiert sich jede Woche auf über 50 Mordopfer. Kein Wunder, dass alle Ü70-jährigen, die das gesehen haben, sich im Dunkeln auf keine Strasse trauen (obwohl der gefährlichste Ort die eigene Wohnung ist – bei Gewalttaten und Unfällen).Die ARD ist mit Herrn Klamroth böse. Obwohl gar nicht so alt, gucken seinem Talkshow-Trash einfach nicht genug Dumme zu, um einen Marktanteil über 10% zu erreichen. Die Rechten in der ARD wollen den Kerl, der mit einer bundesweit bekannten Klimaaktivistin privat liiert ist (Privatleben, geht zwar keine*n was an, aber die Rechten in den ARD-Gremien regen sich trotzdem wortreich auf), loswerden. Seinen Platz soll zunehmend die von allen älteren Herren geliebte Frau Maischberger einnehmen. Die erreichte zwar am späteren Abend – viele der Älteren sind schon im Bett – einen zweistelligen Marktanteil, bleibt aber mit ihrem rechtslastigen und selbstreferentiellen Gäste-Casting zuverlässig immer weit unter 2 Mio. Zuschauer*innen (von 85 theoretisch möglichen).Der eigentliche Quotensieger des Tages war mal wieder <a href="https://www.zdf.de/serien/inspector-barnaby-104" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">“Inspector Barnaby”</a>. Er bringt mit auf ZDFneo versendeten über 20 Jahre alten Wiederholungen die Quotenhengste der ARD jeden Montag mit 1,5-2 Mio. regelmässigen Zuschauer*inne*n zur blanken Verzweiflung. Die spätere Folge um 21.45 h sammelte die Wechsler*innen vom ZDF-Hauptprogramm, die keine Lust aufs heute-Journal hatten, ein, und steigerte den ZDFneo-Marktanteil auf fabelhafte 9%. Es war die erste Folge mit <a href="https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Hughes_(Schauspieler)" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Jason Hughes</a>, dem wohl smartesten aller Barnaby-Sergeants (“Ben Jones”) in der neunten (2005) von mittlerweile 24 (!) Staffeln.Bedarf es noch weiterer Indizien für das TV als Seniorenmedium? Wir sind viele.
