I asked a friend how often they felt "stupid". Like you can't figure out stuff that other people seem to grasp. For me, technical stuff. They said once or twice a week. They're a programmer, and they think that's a lot. For me, this is mixed in some soup of low self-esteem, imposter syndrome, and anxiety of how others perceive me. These thoughts are persistent. Thing is, a part of me knows I'm not stupid. But all I can see are my limitations. If anyone suffers this and have ideas how to work it out, I'm all ears! Does everyone feel "pre-emptive impostor syndrome" as well?

To have some project in mind that you wish to puplish but keep prograstinating since it will not be as good as what others are allready putting out? You'l just be gringe and akward about it?

Since finally steppin into the fediverse/mastodon what ever this is i have seen wonderfull alternative digital life blooming here. Kinda want to be part of it....will see what i come up with...

A large vocabulary combined with frequent bouts of #ImposterSyndrome means that each time one of your applications puts that "this might be spelled wrong" red squiggle under a word, you feel compelled to verify that you actually spelled the word correctly and that the application's dictionary is what's in error.

Just successfully helped a colleague (who I view as being very skilled at coding) debug why two seemingly identical lines of code were returning different answers. 🦆

A nice boost for #impostersyndrome; perhaps I have learnt some things about software and am not so bad after all.

And for those wondering - one was using a f32 array, the other f64.

"As a result, neurodivergent individuals often develop strategies such as adopting strict routine, tightly managing organisational skills, constructing social scripts, modelling neurotypical behaviour, attuning observational skills, hyper-vigilance to social cues, and solid preparation and research to help them get the results that allow them to appear 'normal'."

Tired: Being angry at #VibeCoders for destroying #CompSci with useless drivel, and denigrating the art into something mindless and perfunctory.

Wired: Being thankful to vibe coders for reversing your #ImposterSyndrome.

Inspired: Coding in a boutique language like #uxn that's almost guaranteed to never get you a job, for purely the joy of learning something and hacking around.
