Amy Roberts<p>Unknown species, new sighting 2023 in UK garden.</p><p>This little caterpillar is about 2cm long. It developed inside a healthy plum fruit and then emerged almost colourless, before turning slightly pink, once the plum started to discolour / start going over. </p><p>If anyone can ID this species it would be very helpful, thanks in advance. </p><p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/caterpillar" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>caterpillar</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/newsighting" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>newsighting</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/unknownspecies" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>unknownspecies</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/IDrequired" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>IDrequired</span></a></p>
Amy Roberts<p>Also taken in early July, UK. I believe this is a moth caterpillar, but if anyone can ID would love to hear. Only ever seen on one of my various rose varieties. This is the second consecutive year I have noticed it. </p><p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/caterpillar" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>caterpillar</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/IDrequired" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>IDrequired</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/lepidoptera" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>lepidoptera</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/moth" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>moth</span></a></p>
