Bombus terrestris est une espèce que l'on rencontre dans toute la France. Cette espèce est maintenant élevée dans un but de pollinisation de certaines cultures fruitières printanières ou des cultures maraîchères sous serres.

When I was running up in the Christchurch Port Hills on Friday, I noticed and photographed a distinctive parasitoid wasp. It has a bright red head and thorax and the rest of it is black.

I checked my photos against braconid wasps on #iNaturalist and figured out that it's the NZ endemic wasp, *Asobara antipoda*. That ID has now been confirmed by Otago Museum entomologist Steve Kerr on #iNaturalistNZ.

This is only the third record of this species from the Canterbury region on #GBIF. Mine is the second record from iNat and the other is a pinned specimen collected in 1922 from the NZ Arthropod Collection.

Poorly documented species like this are all around us, even in cities.
