Drenched California and Baha:
It’s feeling a little #apocalyptic today.
1.air quality over 100 (red zone)
2. the power is out—PGE says maybe for the whole day.
3. Watching news on my phone of extensive flooding from #HurricaineHilary affecting the desert community where I used to live. #CoachellaValley
#climatechange #climatecrisis
At the risk of sudden and immediate ironic reversal: I expected more from you, #HurricaineHilary. It's like when the big acts never come to town and the First Big Show In Forever is underwhelming af
Filling the tub to prep for a #HurricaineHilary water shortage feels especially apocalyptic, idky
Clouds: Still weird. No rain or wind, but the air pressure feels notacably light for how hot it is. #HurricaineHilary
I'm seriously starting to worry that my neighbors are not aware that we're literally in the path of #HurricaineHilary (or whatever's left of it). Nobody's bringing in their wind-chimes or patio furniture. One guy outside, RIGHT NOW, washing his car. Construction crew across the street has stacks of roofing tiles sitting out, just waiting to become terracotta frisbees
Oh hey! #HurricaineHilary people: Don't forget to get some cash out of the ATM— just in case!
If you live in the southwest USA, get out your rain barrels and check on your catchment basins - you’re about to get a lot of unseasonal rain that if stored well - can help in the drier times. Let’s hope folks got practice in the past winter letting water sit so it can filter down to the aquifers too! Flood those orchards!
