The BBC article doesn't touch on the danger here of how this strengthens the Holocaust Denial narrative, by this I mean both the images, and the BBC's coverage.

I suspect the number of AI generated images on the Holocaust is very low compared to other AI tragedy related imagery we're seeing, but the fact that the BBC has chosen to cover the Holocaust images and not other tragedies is selective at best.

I agree it's a concern, but it seems meant to distract and promote a specific narrative.

Ingrassia, Cauley & Martin are not the only #Trump admin officials connected to #antisemitic #extremists.

Before becoming #FBI director, #KashPatel appeared 8 separate times on a podcast hosted by #FarRight #ConspiracyTheorist #StewPeters, who promotes #HolocaustDenial. Peters posted a photo of himself holding #Hitler's #MeinKampf w/the message "visionary leadership." In recent days, he attacked the founder of Barstool Sports, Dave Portnoy, w/antisemitic vitriol.

OMGosh! I did #NAZI that coming.
Since you @RememberUsAlways are saying that Anne Frank had to suffer as a consequence of her own elders, why don't you borrow some slightly better arguments of Douglas Murray? youtu.be/FySb63suT7o
Otherwise the #fascism of yours is way too obvious.

Just wanted to check if your #holocaustdenial is still alive, after all these children been slaughtered and starved. 75 years of #Nakba and you're still joking — obviously you are alive and the #Judeosupremacist ideology of yours, too.

The article is pretty clear re your question - #47 & co are implementing the American version of #HolocaustDenial, removing reminders of unfortunate past incidents where nobody really meant any harm, for fear that we might assume that racism and malice towards people because of their skin color was a problem in the US. (The segement after Holocaust Denial was sarcasm, just in case anyone is confused)

Relevant passage: Attorney Lindsey Halligan is reportedly consulting Vice President JD Vance to “remove improper ideology” from Smithsonian properties. According to a recent Washington Post article, Halligan told Trump the Smithsonian needs “changing,” and he has since ordered her to act.

Halligan stated, “I would say that improper ideology would be weaponizing history. We don’t need to overemphasize the negative to teach people that certain aspects of our nation’s history may have been bad.” That overemphasis, she argued, “just makes us grow further and further apart.”

Quoting Iris Leal on how Netanyahu and his allies are spreading antisemitic tropes:

Leal writes that #Netanyahu and allies have weaponized antisemitic propaganda against political opponents. Netanyahu stood beside Hungary's Orbán (who declared Soros an "enemy of the state") while his son Yair shared a cartoon depicting Soros as a lizard manipulating Netanyahu's critics—imagery that received praise from neo-Nazis. She argues that while Netanyahu's circle has accused Jewish philanthropists like #Soros and the Wexner Foundation of global conspiracies against Israel, they themselves may have been taking Qatari money.

[…] Soros, according to the right, is not just a political opponent, he also stands behind a global movement undermining the existing order. The speech Netanyahu gave during his visit to Hungary ignored the Hungarians' role in the murder of Jews, and as the Qatar affair explodes in the background with updates every half hour, one could remember György Schwartz, Soros by his familiar name, who was born in Budapest in 1930, and whose family members, as they say, pretended to be Christians during the Nazi occupation and helped save other Jews.

Europe's far-right is courting Israel in a 'tactical shift' to mask its origins.

When far-right leaders from Europe attended an anti-Semitism conference in Jerusalem this week, it made headlines.

Their parties have roots in Holocaust denial and Nazi collaboration – yet they were welcomed at an event aimed at fighting anti-Semitism.

@vwdasher btw it reminded me that #Netanyahu also dabbled in #holocaust denialism. He tried unsuccessfully to claim it was the Palestinian national leader al Husseini pushed the Nazis to commit to the final solution. #YadVashem scholars were very quick to shut him down. I wonder why they don’t in Musk’s case. Maybe they should before he’s invited to Israel on a state visit again…

[…] Prof. Dina Porat, chief historian of Yad Vashem, called Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's claim that Hitler did not seek to exterminate the Jews until his meeting with the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem at the time, Haj Amin al-Husseini “completely erroneous, on all counts.”

14/ Holocaust Distortion or Denial: The fact that 44% of Americans and 45% of Hungarians consider Holocaust denial or distortion to be common in their country indicates a growing concern about revisionist narratives. This could be related to the increasing presence of such narratives in the media and on social networks. #HolocaustDenial #CombatAntisemitism
