A quick reminder that the Bead Society of Great Britain's Annual General Meeting 2025 takes place this weekend!
watch the art of Huichol beadwork where rocaille beads are set using an adhesive made from beeswax and tree resin, covering a 3-D object with geometric patterns
each bead is hand placed into the adhesive with is then left to harden, the distinctive works represent the religious and cultural beliefs of the people

Previously the property of an Indian maharani, this jewelled head ornament (Jhumar) was created in Lucknow, India during the 19th/20th century
Designed as a gem-set floral arrangement, rows of seed-pearl beads connect to an openwork crescent shaped hinged panel with hanging details and seed-pearl and bead fringe, reverse in polychrome enamel, with a hook above for fastening
