Wtf? Just discovered that the subscribed calendar is even worse.

I can't even remove the notification from individual events because I'm subscribed to a read-only calendar and "when I get a notification" is considered a set-by-server value and hence also read-only 😑

To be clear:
1) I'm subscribed to an iCal URL
2) I subscribed using CalDav Sync (IIRC)
3) The calendar shows as "on this device" in Google Calendar (it's not via Google)
4) I want to see the calendar (that's why I subscribed) but I *don't* need notifications at whatever hour the events are (which can be the middle of the night, out at least earlier on a weekend than I want)
5) Google Calendar will let me change the default notification when creating new events
6) Android lets me disable ALL notifications from Google Calendar - but I want the notifications from OTHER calendars
6) Google Calendar doesn't seem to let me edit existing events in this read-only calendar or disable notifications for individual calendars

I *think* I've finally managed to nail an irritating 'not-a-bug' in Thunderbird calendar where it would keep adding a default 30 minute reminder even when reminders were set to off. Turns out to have been the reminder setting in Google calendar (although I thought I'd turned that off months ago). So even though you're entering the event in Thunderbird, Google calendar decides to overwrite your setting and add a reminder anyway. Fingers crossed that's nailed it. #Thunderbird #GoogleCalendar

PhorgeT15564 Allow yourself to be Invited in Imported EventsI have an external company Calendar with events like "Valerio in vacancy" or "Valerio with customer xxx" so I imported it in my…

I'm looking for suggestions for a #GoogleCalendar alternative - ideally needs to be able to host a calendar with which:
- I can invite people to events
- people could import it into whatever calendar software they were using
- I can share with specific people who would be able to edit it (ideally using their preferred software)

So far I've tried #Cryptpad, #NextCloud (hosted by thegood.cloud), and #Framagenda (which is also NextCloud under the hood, it turns out).

¿Alguien quiere probarlo?
