Going for a “walk” near Glendalough, Ireland.
Currently 470 metres above sea level. Don’t know where we started but we have gone up a lot :-).
The Glendalough monastic site was founded by St. Kevin in the early 6th century in Ireland. It is now in ruins, but a must-see in Ireland. We tell you what you see during a self-guided tour of the site. #Glendalough #Ireland https://backpackandsnorkel.com/Ireland/Day5/#552

To mark the 30th anniversary of the #Bealtaine Festival, #Transport for #Ireland (TFI) and the Office of Public Works (OPW) are offering free entry to selected heritage sites for Senior Citizens who travel using TFI Local Link services during May 2025. By presenting a Local Link ticket or Travel Pass, seniors can enjoy free access to iconic sites such as #Glendalough, #Clonmacnoise, #Ennis Friary and the Blasket Centre. The initiative promotes sustainable travel and cultural engagement, and complements a nationwide programme of Bealtaine events celebrating creativity and the arts in later life.
