Schon seit Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs agiert mit Unterstützung der USA die "Organisation Gehlen": der Vorläufer des BND.Dabei spielt den US-Amerikanern ein weiterer Umstand in die Karten, denn mit ihrer Unterstützung agiert schon seit dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs die "Organisation Gehlen" als eine Art Vorläufer des BND.
