Watched #FireofLove tonight. Absolutely gorgeous film, and helped get me unblocked with the #essay I'm working on. The film is more like a #CreativenonFiction #CNF piece than any movie I've ever seen, and I loved that approach to the narrative.

@neonbubble I've been fortunate and privileged enough to visit several #volcanoes and have seen the bright red lava flowing down the side of #MountEtna from sea at night; beautiful and mesmerizing
If you haven't already, you might appreciate watching #FireOfLove by #NationalGeographic on #DisneyPlus about the careers of noted #volcanologist couple Katia and Maurice #Krafft, and on #Netflix, the sobering, terrifying #TheVolcano #RescueFromWhakaari in #NewZealand about its deadly 2019 #eruption.

I remember when the #Kraffts died because I was aware of them from films they had made.
This confirms my opinion that they were obsessive and reckless in their work, but it also shows they came to understand what they were doing needed to have a higher purpose than fulfilling their personal quests for knowledge and excitement.
Well told, with amazing imagery.
They've saved hundreds of thousands, and will likely save millions.
Just watching the #Oscar nominated #Documentary "Fire of Love" on #Disney+ about a married pair if volcanoligists (they study #Volcanoes). I'm always fascinated by volcanoes and the landscapes of #Iceland, #Hawaii etc. Takes me back to studying #Geology in uni for a year...you think ooh volcanology that looks cool...then you find out the life expectancy of volcanoligists

Okay so the #Oscars #nominations are out.
First things first: I still cannot understand why Cameron isn't even nominated for best director for #Avatar 2, given among other things, his revolutionary usage of underwater shooting.
Very happy to see the many other noms for Avatar: #TheWayofWater (my best picture, but I realised I'm biased) as well as for #EverythingEverywhereAllatOnce (go Michelle Yeoh!) and Banshees of Inisherin. Also very glad to see the many noms for All Quit on the western front, all tough the international feature award will be a hard battle with #EO and Argentina 1985 also nominated. Sad to see that The Territory didn't make it into best documentary. My personal favourite in that category is #FireofLove which took my Breath away at CPH:DOX last year. We should do a "best name" category for "My Year of Dicks" and "An Ostrich told me the world is fake and I think I believe it"!
