Successfully got Yuffie and Vincent to join my party in FFVII. Yuffie will definitely be in my battle party, being my second favorite character in the game after Aerith.

Vincent may see an occasional appearance in battle, but he won't be one of my main three. My main three are usually some combination of Cloud, Barret, Tifa, Aerith, Red XIII, and Yuffie, except when the story dictates otherwise at certain points.

Now, on to the next part of the story!

It really has been a long time since I last played Final Fantasy VII. I think I'm about to begin the Reunion arc (after some foreshadowing earlier in the game), and I don't remember any of this.

I also completely forgot that there was a snowboarding minigame, and a climb-the-ice-cliff-without-freezing minigame.

The main thing I am still waiting for to happen though is when I finally get Cid's airship. I need to go find Yuffie!

I should go back and try to get Vincent too. I unlocked his optional path but wasn't prepared for the boss blocking my way at the time. But in the current part of the story, I am locked to my present location and can't explore the world.

Ya know The Lost World: Jurassic Park deserves a lot of credit it doesn't get because so many YT critics remain invested in hating on the very concept of Jurassic Park sequels.

So many Leftist Video Essays on Final Fantasy VII talk about how incredibly bold and radical it is that it's a AAA Game where you play as Eco-Terrorists, insinuating that western media would be far more afraid to do such a thing, certainly no Hollywood movie ever would.

Well The Lost World: Jurassic Park is a Hollywood movie from 2 years earlier where the protagonists engage in Eco Terrorism, one of whom is a member of a real life organization officially declared Eco-Terrorists by some governments including Japan's.

Someone write a Crossover fic where Nick Van Owen joins Avalanche.

THAT scene in Final Fantasy VII. It still hits as hard now as it did the first time I saw it about twenty-five years ago, even though I knew it was coming...

I had forgotten when exactly in the story it was, but as soon as I got to a certain location, I recognized it, and knew it wasn't far off.

For a very long time, I wasn't the biggest fan of the original arrangements of the Final Fantasy VII battle and victory fanfare songs.

I have since fallen in love with the Final Fantasy VII Remake's arrangement of the "Let the Battles Begin - A Merc's Job". In fact, it's a banger!

That said, I still cannot say that I'm a fan of the Final Fantasy VII Remake's arrangement of the victory fanfare. It's still too much of a departure from the classic fanfares used in FF I-VI (and returned in FF X). Of the non-classic victory fanfares, FF X and FF VIII take the cake.

The Cosmo Canyon arc is still one of my favorite parts of Final Fantasy VII. The first time I saw Bugenhagen talk about the Lifestream all those years ago, it was such a big moment. It's also a good development arc for a certain character.

Ahh, the chocobo racing minigame in FFVII, which spun off into its own game for PlayStation: the aptly titled Chocobo Racing.

Now if only my backwards compatible PS3 was hooked up so I could play it again.
