Since I finally switched to another instance here is my #introduction to the new beginning.

I am an acoustical engineer and field recordist. My main interest now is #bioacoustic #ecoacoustic and #fieldrecording.

I've joined mastodon in 2023.

Have been realy happy with the community and resources I found here over time.

One of the best things was probably learning about #faircamp and creating my own site. (thanks to @freebliss )

Laura Netz's sounds evolve from handmade tools and DIY laboratories. They use outdoor natural environments' field recordings, along with raw, unprocessed sound data.

Interested in situated listening and the effects of rhythm on thoughts, the expression of frequencies and vibrations reminds her of the powerful connections in nature. The piece ‘Medial Dark Ages’ played on the show, uses bat signals transduced to sound, sheep sounds and a pure data drum machine.

Netz is part of the hacking culture and noise scene. As a live performer, she has acted in various festivals and events worldwide. In 2015, she launched her indi record label EAM. She is well-known in the London noise scene where she performs under the moniker Laura Netz / Medial Ages and promotes the series 'Sonic Electronics'.

Opened Wien Modern on 01.11. with a 32-minutes long DJ set in which I compressed music by 32 artists. The recording is online now and includes lists of artists and labels.

looking for advice in managing 32 bit float recordings on zoom H1 essential. i wanted to save them in FLAC 24bit to save storage, but i wanted to preserve the authenticity of the recordings. if i normalize, some files become very quiet probably because on some sharp peaks. library is getting bigger, any solution that will apply to everyone of them? thanks! #Blind #FieldRecording #Audio #Sound #Zoom #H1Essential
