Your service is called #Fedified and your headline is "Discover Mastodon" ?!?!?!?
For fuck's sake!
Mastodon is not the fucking fediverse!
Jesus H. Christ.
Why are there so many projects with "Fedi" in its name, that only work with or are designed for #Mastodon? I think that's a bit confusing and misleading to be honest.
#Fedifetcher (Script) #Fedified (Website) #FediAct (Addon) etc. #Fediverse
If you make a tool for #fediverse - please, stop with this insane #USdefaultism.
You can make it english-only, it's not much of an issue, but don't ignore everyone outside of the US. If you have multiple options related to individual US cities, but have none for #EU or countries like China, India, Egypt, Germany, etc... it comes off as extremely ignorant. And that's before we start talking about everything else than just geographic locations alone.
Looking at you #fedified.
Question for Mastodon gurus: Is there a secret to getting a backlink to my profile to work such that it turns "verified" green *in addition to* adding "rel=me"? I followed instructions, adding it from my WordPress site, but it doesn't show up here. I know this feature works fine on my instance (sfba.social) because #Fedified did it already! (See screen shot.)
The only theory I can come up with is that something is blocking it from my WP host end. Any ideas? Thanks. #FediTips #FediHelp
I spent a few hours going way down the #CustomEmoji rabbit hole. Good news for #AvGeekSocial tenants! I've created a nice variety of #Boeing #SouthwestAirlines and #DeltaAirLines icons to get us started.
Here they are:
Appreciate your thoughts/feedback.
@daveleeFT BTW that phrase "Verified by PressCheck.org" in the profile is an abuse / over-interpretation of what this mastodon feature is intended for. The green checkbox next to the link means ONLY that there is a back link to the mastodon profile on the page indicated by the link. The text above the link is NOT relevant and does NOT have to be true - the profile holder can write whatever they want there.

I thought I was done with tooting about Twitter, but the new guy is going full fascist pretty fast, so if you are leaving Twitter, check this: https://www.fedified.com/
hey @daveleeFT & presscheck dot org , if you’re going to run a centralized verification system a la #fedified , and you want people to trust in you, i think you need to publish more information about your verification process.
Curious:
In order to verify my account through Fedified, I had to hop back on the bird site ... and just noticed that I still have my blue checkmark. Am I being charged somehow, or has that not entirely rolled out yet?

New by me at Forbes today: a guide to getting 'Twitter verified' at Mastodon. Includes options for linking Twitter and Mastodon accounts, linking 'legacy blue' Twitter accounts, and more. I couldn't cover everything, so be kind - this is for a general audience, those who might be exploring Mastodon and want to know more about account verification in easy to digest terms.

A hot take is brewing inside my brain on he clash of the worlds surrounding the #fedified. I've read thru some of the posts, which argued this kind of verification is actually great or evil thing, and it appeared, that I have Opinions.
This post, though, is not quite a teaser, more like an attempt to shame myself into collect the notes on the matter from my chats and make some kind of a post, if not quite an essay, on the matter.
Hello! we are group of fediverse users worried about the future of the fediverse. We believe that centralization of verification systems does not pertain on Mastodon. We believe in solutions that empower users and that do not delegate their power to self-declared specialists. We thus encourage everyone to oppose centralizing phenomena, and to challenge the views of Mastodon as just a "Twitter-to-be".
Say No to #fedified in the Fediverse
Our open letter: https://paper.wf/snff/say-no-to-fedified-in-fediverse-snff
I've shared this for 2 reasons:
- I've noticed an uptick in bogus requests, and I'm hoping this thread will dissuade would-be imposters
- I'm proud of the impact fedified is having, and I remain hopeful that early detractors eventually come around to seeing #fedified for what it is: a public service project that aims to protect the integrity of discourse on Mastodon during the current #TwitterMigration period

The sweet spot seems to be 3 to 10 times per day (including boosts and replies, excluding Twitter cross-posts)
Posting more than 10 times/day --> diminishing returns
