If you’re looking for a Pocket replacement, the good news is that there are tons of open source options available - if you’re willing to self host. And if you’re going that route, why not try a federated bookmarking platform? I know of two.

Might be a little biased as I’ve contributed once or twice, but Postmarks works great. Yes, it was built with Glitch in mind but I run it as a Docker container myself.

Hmm... Can't seem to crosspost from NeoDB to here. Could be a Friendica compatibility issue, because it worked flawlessly when crossposting to Bluesky (by mistake) and then bridging it here (that would be my earlier post about Phoenix Point).

I'll twist some knobs and try once (or twice) more...

EDIT: Got it to work now. Set the method for crossposting to "create a new post" instead of boosting. Still not sure why boosting won't work, though...

With this release, Ivory now UNOFFICIALLY supports additional fediverse platforms such as GoToSocial, IceShrimp.NET. I've tried these platforms with mostly success.

The better the Mastodon API support on your platform, the better your experience will be. Obviously, platform specific features like emoji reacts or reply controls aren't going to be available. Still nice!

Edit: SNAC and Hollo work as well now!

Had some fun today installing @hollo because you can never have enough fediverse accounts, right? I'm definitely not avoiding the real world with this distraction. 👀

Hollo is a single / low user platform for the fediverse. It runs on the @fedify framework and supports quote posts, markdown, and emoji reactions.

I went off the beaten path a bit and customized the composer file. Here's my notes on the install process.

Been on the TestFlight of this one. @feeeed is incorporating content from everywhere. While the configuration options says “Mastodon Handle” any fediverse handle I’ve thrown at it works so far.

PeerTube. Lemmy. Firefish. IceShrimp. Friendica. Threads. All alongside blog feeds, Reddit, YouTube, news services, personal photos, birthday reminders and more. The only thing missing is the ability to interact - like or reply direct from the interface. ❤️🥳

Are there any Android apps that have a good UI for both Reddit-like (e.g. kbin/lemmy) and Twitter-like (e.g. Mastodon) posts?

I use Tusky, which is great for Mastodon and can see kbin posts, but doesn't support them as well as the kbin web UI.

Any suggestions?

While the mastodon community has a meltdown over new verbiage attached to a post visibility setting, #Sharkey is offering up seasonal screen effects.

Sometimes you don’t need a good reason. Just add something random that brings a little joy to the table.
