Jonathan Emmesedi<p>🧵2/2</p><p>...Farrah Fawcett </p><p>Fawcett is best known as one of the original "Charlie's Angels" and as representative of a particularly American look of the seventies, epitomized in the swimsuit poster.</p><p>I was never devoted to or even that interested in her, and would have been inclined to dismiss her as just another blonde product of US pop culture.</p><p>The exhibition, however, made a convincing case that such a dismissal would be unjust. I learned that she had studied under Umlauf, whom she revered as a teacher and with whom she kept in contact over the years. The works on display demonstrated she was artistically talented, with sketches and paintings from her later years showing her dealing with themes such as sexuality and celebrity. Material accompanying the exhibition also shows that she had a wry and insightful sense of humour. Commenting on "Charlie's Angels" she noted</p><p>>> When the show got to be No. <br>3, I figured it was our acting.
