The dog woke me up at 5:30 because she had to go outside so I have been up for a couple of hours. Took the time to finish Darling Girl by Liz Michalski. It is a Peter Pan retelling and I really despised the main character throughout the entire book. She redeems herself a bit by the end. Nothing spectacular, but it was entertaining which was what I needed.

In 2009 an enormous cache of collected folktales from the early anthropologist/story collector Franz Xaver Von Schonwerth were found in a municiple archive in Bavaria. In the 1850s he published a catalog of stories inspired by the Brothers Grimm but it was nothing compared to the size of his unpublished interviews and notes. This English translation just arrived at our house. #bookstodon #fairytales #storytelling
