In my quest to reclaim my attention capacity, I have come to a realization: the life I chose requires a smartphone, but it is also the worst offender it terms of ruining my focus.
Fortunately, I can make my phone less of a nuisance and still benefit from its convenience.
ergaster.orgTIL that I can ask my smartphone to respect my attentionIf my phone is making me miserable my constantly nagging me for attention, surely the solution must be to ditch it and take a dumb phone that can only place calls and send texts?Except calls are particularly intrusive interruptions, and the only texts I receive are from couriers. My family and friends use iMessage or Signal. And what about the pictures I can snap in a few seconds by pulling my phone from my pocket? What about GPS navigation? What about those parking lots where you can only pay with an app? What if I need to order a cab in a country I don't speak the language of? What about using my phone app as a 2FA from the bank as the PSD2 practically requires?

Reagardless: People will pay. They always do, even if they complain (somewhat validly.) That’s why marketing works.
The usual end-of-something/something-is-doomed article on Medium.
I wonder why a lot of people insist in considering dead some technologies which are calmly and peacefully around since ages and with no intention to die, thanks to a reasonably percentage of devs and users that depend on them happily.
I have a couple of suspects, but for the usual click-bait strategy. Promoting new stuff at all costs is one of them. #dev #foss #fomo

Das mit dem Content Pass in #ElderScrollsOnline seh ich sehr kritisch. Wirkt als würde man in Kombi mit dem großen Event in der Jahresmitte Geld mit #fomo machen wollen. Dabei wurde versprochen, dass alle Inhalte auch nach einer Saison zur Verfügung stehen. Das Event mit dieser magischen Mauer klingt aber gar nicht danach.
Ich hab bissl Angst vor #enshittification hier.

Aunque me ha costado, porque les tengo cariño, he anulado mi suscripción a un par de podcast (bueno, más bien programas de radio grabados) que publicaban varios programas semanales.
Estaba empezando a "agobiarme" por estar al día con mis suscripciones y a escucharlos "deprisa" y sin prestar la atención merecida.
Ahora estoy mucho mejor. Lo último que quiero es tener ansiedad por mi ocio...
