An unpopular opinion: the #FIFAWorldCup 2022 in #Qatar, in retrospect, is going to look a whole lot better than #FifaWorldCup2026. In Qatar it was hot, but the stadiums were air-conditioned. In the US stadiums, it's going to be hotter -- and no air-conditioning, as we're seeing at #FIFAClubWorldCup.

Then another thing. Both coutries are criticised for their dealing with immigrants. Dozens of immigrants died in Qatar building the stadiums. In the #US, some 50,000 immigrants are being held in internment facilities against their will for no reason whatsoever, as #ICE prepares to boot up and what not on time for the cup. By kick-off time, the death toll will exceed that of Qatar by triple digits.

@mlawton judging from what JD #Vance just said about #WorldCup tourists being deported if they stay longer than the event and these stellar prices, I bet it will be the most disastrous FIFA event in the history of #football.
