Die Ukraine war damals mitten im friedlichen(!) Umbruch des #Euromaidan und kaum zur koordinierten Verteidigung fähig. Was trotzdem #Russland noch lange nicht das Recht gab, Teile der #Ukraine zu besetzen.

Könnte man als @tagesschau für einen Kontext schreiben, wenn man nur wollte.

#Euromaidan was the point where #Russia started it's aggression, as #Putin wanted to enshure #Ukraine remained a Pro-Russian periphery state.

  • A prosperous Ukraine would destroy the #Propaganda lies that claim "Russia is better than ever!" because for that Russia needs weak/more impoverished neighbours.

Same with #Democracy and #HumanRights: Russia's #PuppetStates in East Ukraine don't even try to comply with standards by the #OSCE whereas even before #Zelenskyy there was a clear trajectory of Ukraine moving more and more towards fulfilling the #EU membership criterias.

  • Without Putin being impatient and greedy, he would've gladly kept the "#StatusQuoAnteBelkum" indefinitely, but his threats, interference, annexion and full-scale invasion made it abundantly clear that one cannot trust him or Moscow at all…

Instead, the Ukraine War became the prime ad for #NATO membership!

Schelte oder zurechtweisen kann man jemanden der im unrecht ist oder unrecht begeht 🤔 Was #donaldtrump macht ist tatsächlich eine #TäterOpferUmkehr 🤔 #russia hat die #ukraine angegriffen, nicht umgekehrt! Alle die sagen "die Ukraine brauche bloß aufhören zu kämpfen" vergessen was dann passiert. Dann wäre der #euromaidan um einfach nur in Freiheit zu leben vergebens gewesen 🤔

Then, the security forces tore down the barricade on #Instytutska and began storming the #Euromaidan. Tear gas and flash-bang grenades were used. By evening, the "clean-up" began.
