Erika Sumner<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.lol/@ellesaurus" class="u-url mention">@<span>ellesaurus</span></a></span> I couldn’t agree with you more! So often the initial steps in legal protections like <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/MarriageEquality" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>MarriageEquality</span></a> aren’t nearly as comprehensive as they need to be to provide true “protections” & progress is terribly slow following them. After all, it was 8+ years ago that <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/EdieWatson" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>EdieWatson</span></a> won her landmark <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/SCOTUS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SCOTUS</span></a> case striking down the Defense of Marriage Act <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/DOMA" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>DOMA</span></a>. As goes with <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/SocialJustice" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SocialJustice</span></a> movements, we must remain ever vigilant. <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/LGBTQ" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>LGBTQ</span></a>+ <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/OnwardAndForward" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>OnwardAndForward</span></a>! <a href="https://bit.ly/3W1AbQt" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">bit.ly/3W1AbQt</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
