Another anecdote: '18 Chevrolet Bolt equipped with new tires to replace originals this year at 67k miles/108kkm, with a bit of space remaining above wear indicators.

As B&C says, it's a lot about too large and too heavy,. Couple that with aggressive and/or brainless driving habits (race to that next red light!). These self-inflicted problems affect a broad spectrum of vehicles.

But excellent propaganda for the fossil fuel industry. High superficial appeal.

My daughter and I walked to her school for the first time, 45 minutes through snow and slush. We arrived bang on time, but we also crossed a psychological barrier.

Now we've walked it once, we know we can do it again.

Her: "It's so beautiful! I love how the snow makes the trees look!"

What do people need to walk more?

Mobility/fitness, safe pavements, suitable clothing and shoes. Let's design communities with pavements -and economies that work for all of us.
