Alex PapageorgiouTypically my work experience (SRE) feeds into my <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/homelab" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#homelab</a> hobby, but recently I've had a couple of surprising finds from the homelab folks that are useful in my day job!1. <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/dozzle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#dozzle</a> is a great tool for getting logs from different docker containers running locally, also offers a quick overview of resource usage. Extremely low resource util, it typically runs at about 50M of memory in my setup (18 containers currently). IT-tools is something I run into, and it's an honestly spectacular collection of tools you might need in everyday computer tasks, all runnable in browser. I had been leaning into LLMs lately to quickly convert formats (e.g YAML to JSON etc), and I've always found myself getting back to the JWT website to inspect JWTs, so this is super useful for me. I have a single template that has:<a href="https://tenforward.social/tags/Dozzle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Dozzle</a>: container-level log collector for Docker <a href="https://tenforward.social/tags/redis" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#redis</a>: fast as hell key-value store, used by... <a href="https://tenforward.social/tags/cAdvisor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#cAdvisor</a>: container-level metrics collector for DockerThey're already deployed and running in the template. I just have to clone it and then install whatever I want into the LXC container. Then it's pointing <a href="https://tenforward.social/tags/prometheus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#prometheus</a> at <a href="https://tenforward.social/tags/cAdvisor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#cAdvisor</a> for each LXC container and then instant <a href="https://tenforward.social/tags/metrics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#metrics</a>!🤓 Nerding good times.
