I need to point-out that Trump is a "Dogs and cats" person, and I am a "Cats and dogs" person.

During the debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, he made this bizarre and appallingly racist claim about Haitian immigrants in Ohio: "They’re eating the dogs. They’re eating the cats. They’re eating the pets of the people that live there."

So this happened to me on the weekend. I went for a bushwalk to see if I could add a few more bird species for this year's list (I got two - red browed pardalote and crested bellbird). I was joined by my son. Fairly early on in the walk a young dog came up to us. My son said hello and gave him a pat on his side. That was it, the dog attached himself to us and followed us for our full 7 km route, never straying more than 20 metres from my son's side. 🧵
