jess ⛅It's been a while, so here's my accountability <a href="https://federatedfandom.net/tags/kdrama" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#kdrama</a> update.On Saturday, I accidentally binge-watched four episodes of Destined With You (they kept ending in increasingly stressful cliffhangers!) and wrapped up the last two episodes Sunday morning. Did not expect to cry over this one!Now I'm trying to get through the last couple episodes of Run On, which I have been trying to watch for two years, but I've finally hit the slow slog I was worried about. It's not bad in the least but the episode pace is glacial right now and my attention keeps drifting.And finally, my weekly online kdrama club started our 10th drama! Both are fabulous actors - using their whole bodies - even toes pointed a certain way to convey so much!<a href="https://techhub.social/tags/kDrama" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#kDrama</a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/DestinedWithYou" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#DestinedWithYou</a>

UkMudeokI finished a rewatch of <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/destinedwithyou" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#destinedwithyou</a> and have to mention the subtle acting of <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/rowoon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#rowoon</a>. He does great eye acting and always reminds me of a large cat with the way he moves. He also has a great comedic touch. Jo Bo-ah is also fantastic. She plays off of Rowoon so well and conveys the emotions of her character very well. My first viewing left me feeling the storyline was great. This viewing left me feeling the acting was great.<a href="https://sfba.social/tags/kdrama" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#kdrama</a>

WhooshEnd of the Year Drama Challenge Day 25: Favorite romance of 2023?If I knew the ending, I might pick "My Demon" because the chemistry there is outstanding. But I'm not sure how it will end.I know I'm in the minority with this, but of the 2023 dramas I watched, "Destined with You" was my favorite romance. WhooshComplaints I’ve heard about DWY: - Story is confusing. Yes. The backstory doesn't come early enough & it creates confusion & doubt about the characters - could this be intentional? - ML is stiff. Yes, on purpose. If you are reading subtitles, the details might be missed. There are so many beautiful, tiny movements - his steadfast steps falter slightly, he wobbles a bit, his hands make finger hearts behind his back. His acting goes down to his toes!- The coworkers are also terrible people & although we see character growth, we don't know why.- The 1st part of the drama showed a lot of magic & curse scenes. This faded away & some people felt they were left hanging. I think that as we came to some realizations the magic isn't as important. While there are a few things that I wonder about, nothing that was important to the storyline was left hanging. Whoosh<a href="https://techhub.social/tags/kDrama" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#kDrama</a> Destined with You (2023 - Netflix, 16 1:10 eps)DWY is proving very popular on Netflix. People seem to love or hate it. Complaints are addressed in a reply. Cinematography is gorgeous - the most beautiful tragic murder scene ever. The director used the surroundings extremely well - all the flower symbolism - look up "Hong Jo", the heart in the city's sign, & the bird that decided to help with the shoot.One of the funniest kDrama eps I've ever seen is DWY #4. Rowoon's physical comedy is brilliant. With this, he has proven his capabilities. I also like Jo Bo Ah so much better in this than Nine-Tailed. At times her character annoyed me, but her choices emphasized that she had been alone for a long time. The chemistry between them is off the charts cute & sexy! Loved the references to other kDramas.One of my top 5 favorites! Elizabeth Tai | 戴秀铃 🇲🇾I really, really wanted to like this. but Show's plot structure was a mess. It tried too hard to be everything & ended up becoming nothing. I was terminally bored throughout because there was a lot of filler characters doing pointless things when all I wanted to know was the curse, our couple and their past lives. But they kept shelved that until the last moment. Cozy TasiaDestined With You is that K drama that just too good for only 16 episodes. There's the right amount of sweet, sarcasm, pettiness, and mystery to keep people tuned in.
