Planetary Ecologist<p>Desert varnish (Deserts 🏜️)</p><p>Desert varnish or rock varnish is an orange-yellow to black coating found on exposed rock surfaces in arid environments. Desert varnish is approximately one micrometer thick and exhibits nanometer-scale layering.
