From a colleague of mine:

I would love to invite you to Colorado Startups' upcoming, Women in Tech Panel!

Being a woman in tech can mean so many things -- it's not one role in just one sector, and during our event we'll explore many of those possibilities with our panelists. Our panelists, who are accomplished Colorado leaders in tech, will share more about their unique paths in tech and show us that there are many ways to find fulfillment in our careers in tech as women. We'll learn from their journeys in engineering, product, growth, ops/hr and from current startup founders. We'll learn about their career highlights, learnings, challenges, and insights. We'll get to learn from their wisdom and and advice, and we'll be able to celebrate the strides we have made as a community and discuss how we can continue to open doors for opportunity for more women in Tech.

Join us on 4/30 at 4pm in Denver and connect with other women in tech through meaningful networking opportunities, learn from leaders in our community, and grow a powerful network of women in tech in Colorado!

This is an event you won't want to miss! Can't wait to see you there!

Are you coming to GUADEC in Denver, CO, USA next month? I’m putting together a curated list of locations and notes… my goal is to move this over to the GUADEC site itself or at least something powered by OpenStreetMap, but here it is on Google Maps in the meantime:

Every third Monday of January, the United States observes Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday to honor the life and legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Some of our members have enjoyed participating in the MLK Parade in Denver on this date. Drumming for the parade particpants, drinking starbucks hot chocolate, celebrating Dr. King with rest of the crowd.

THIS year the weather, however, had a different idea. It just happens to be BITTERLY COLD today and snowy (temperature right now is -3 degrees with a wind chill of -20 degrees!). So sadly the parade has been cancelled. But we pay tribute to Dr. King by remembering his remarkable accomplishments and acknowledging the life that he gave up for his desire for peace and equality.
