Today I've got a dentist's appointment mid morning - which if I remember correctly is to deal with a long-standing tiny cavity in one of my few remaining upper teeth (the rest are crowns or implants).

I've noticed a few wavy lines on the optician's Amsler Chart - I'm due a checkup in June so I think it's ok to leave it until then.

This getting old business is certainly worrying!

We've agreed to go and see our daughter tomorrow and that means a sneak preview of her new flat (and to scope out the parking issues for the removal van)

It seems as though it's going to be warm and sunny here in the English East Midlands today.

I hope you are feeling warm & sunny - but if you're not then I'm sending some rays your way.

Went for an emergency dental visit. I now need to see an oral surgeon to have two teeth extracted. Plus I have a list of dental offices that offer low cost care as well as the local dental schools. Medicaid only pays for emergency dental for folks over 26, btw.

Did I mention that I have severe anxiety around dental care?

Happy Monday.

Will this reduce idiocracy in Red States (even if they become toothless?)

"Florida is removing fluoride from water systems. More states may follow. How big of a deal is this?

Florida recently passed a law banning fluoride from municipal water, effective this July. This follows a similar move in Utah and may signal a growing trend in other states—effectively launching a large, uncontrolled experiment on millions of residents: remove fluoride after decades of implementation and see what happens.'

In , has now outlawed communities their water because fringe science and UNINFORMED CONSENT (um, well, everyone assumed their water was fluoridated, back when things were sane).

But, okay, parents can still give tablets and drops to their kids, like mine did back in the Dark Ages of the 1960s. Except the is now moving to ban those, too, for Reasons.

Does own stock in supply companies?

Wonkette · Florida Bans Fluoride In Water, While RFK Jr.'s FDA Bans Some Fluoride Treatments, You Know, For Kids!By Gary Legum

Last night I had a dream where I was lost in a gigantic Asian mall and the only way to see a map was with those damned QR code.
But I didn't have my phone because I left my backpack at the dentist.
But the dentist's office being in the mall, where I was lost, I couldn't get my phone to get the map to go to the dentist.

You follow?

So I got really mad and yelled "I'm going to complain about it on Mastodon!!"

I think I really need to get some fresh air.

Back from phase two of #dentist. They put exam and cleaning in separate appointments so if one person is running behind it doesn't affect the other. Not that the exam part is stellar. For the second year in a row, the exam said I had no problems, and two weeks later the hygienist discovered a minor issue while doing the cleaning. So that's phase three next week to replace the missing filling.

Meant getting up at six today. More usually, I'm reading until then, and going to bed at six. For medical stuff where I have to remove my #N95, I try to get the very first appointment. At least the previous day's viruses should have settled. Hygienist wore a mask, as did dentist during the re-check, but she removed it during the discussion. Three receptionists and two other patients, no mask.

I just had a filling at the dentist that took 4 minutes and no Novocaine. I'm in a state of shock! So amazing. Wish they were typically like that. It was so quick I could go back to work ... but it's beautiful out so I'm sitting in the park instead.
