@GottaLaff I'm no lawyer, but I recall in past govt closure threats, that a govt shutdown does not necessarily slowdown the courts. I wonder if the Dems have considered not voting for cloture, thereby forcing Thune to get rid of the filibuster altogether. GOP wins anyway. BUT if Dems narrowly win the Senate back...they can justify no filibusting and push through a LOT of important stuff. Dangerous gamble, but in some ways, what more can we lose??
