Time changeover: Why CET is preventing the abolition.

The clocks have changed to summer time, while the abolition continues to stall.

Two researchers from the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences have made a suggestion how the knot could be untied.

The proposal may come at just the right time: Poland, which has held the EU Council presidency since January, wants to explore how to proceed with the issue.

Morning after we switched to “daylight savings time” in Europe.

Things I’m *not* doing: changing the clock in my cameras. Because I set them to UTC. It’s the only way to way to avoid human errors that introduce inconsistencies. Like when crossing TZ or DST borders and having changed the clock too late, after already having taken several photos.

Adjusting the date & time later, when ingesting or processing them is much more reliable & consistent.

Time to stop changing clocks? Not so fast, say EU member states.

When clocks spring forward across the bloc on Sunday, it won't be the last time.

The EU proposed abolishing the custom in 2018 after nearly four million people in the bloc's then 28 member states – before Britain formally exited – gave their support in a European Citizens Initiative.

It has since fallen into limbo after hitting opposition from some EU states.

Looking at my co-worker's PR and it may be only 4 files, but I'm still feeling like Thomas Jefferson regarding Alexander Hamilton's financial plan in "Rap Battle #1" from _Hamilton_ ("...and it’s too many damn pages for any man to understand").

Maybe I need more caffeine.

Maybe I can blame #DaylightSavingsTime still?

Good morning. 🌊🌊🌊

Hmmm... I'm feeling sleepy. Somehow, Charlie figured out it was 7:30 a.m. even after we moved the clocks forward for daylight saving time. I wonder how he managed that—perhaps Grandfather Clock gave it away with its chimes. I think it starts chiming at 7:30, though I didn’t notice because I was dozing in my chair. Come to think of it, Ben was barking outside the bedroom door before 6:00 this morning, his usual time. But how did he know? To be fair, sometimes Ben wakes up extra early when he really needs to go out. Yesterday, I didn’t even realize daylight saving time had started until I noticed that my phone and the other clocks in the house didn’t match.

I am personally inclined towards permanent #DaylightSavingsTime but I would give it up in a heartbeat to stop switching twice a year!

Is it literally dangerous! There are higher rates of accident and injury and increased emergency room visits proximate to these time changes...

If we really wanted to have the best of both worlds, we would need to have maybe between -20 and 20 leap seconds every day, depending on which direction you're going... but that is not going to happen.
