Matt Lewis<p>I've released version 0.3.7 of my WIP <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Psion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Psion</span></a> Agenda-like app "Pygenda" targeting keyboard-equipped PDAs running Linux (<a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/GeminiPDA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GeminiPDA</span></a>, <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/CosmoCommunicator" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CosmoCommunicator</span></a>, <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/PinePhone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PinePhone</span></a> + keyboard, <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/PocketReform" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PocketReform</span></a>, F(x)tec <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Pro1X" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pro1X</span></a>).</p><p>The last two releases have been bug-fix releases (two releases because minutes after 0.3.6, I noticed an API change in a dependency was causing a crash &amp; rushed out a fix). Hopefully it's in a good state for testing now.</p><p>Docs &amp; source: <a href="https://github.com/semiprime/pygenda" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">github.com/semiprime/pygenda</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>Video: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvQqFmlZ6nM" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">youtube.com/watch?v=uvQqFmlZ6nM</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
Matt Lewis<p>I've just released version 0.3.5 of Pygenda - my WIP <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Psion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Psion</span></a> Agenda-like app targetting <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/GeminiPDA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GeminiPDA</span></a> &amp; <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/CosmoCommunicator" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CosmoCommunicator</span></a> running Linux. (Similar keyboard <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/PDA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PDA</span></a> type devices running <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/LinuxMobile" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LinuxMobile</span></a> should work too, e.g. <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/PinePhone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PinePhone</span></a> + keyboard, F(x)tec <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Pro1x" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pro1x</span></a>, <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/PocketReform" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PocketReform</span></a>)</p><p>The main change this release is that todo-items with a due date are (optionally) shown in Week &amp; Year Views. This has been a useful improvement for me as I now see todos in my "home" views, rather than having to switch to Todo View.</p>
Matt Lewis<p>I've just released version 0.3.4 of Pygenda, my WIP Psion-style agenda application for keyboard-equipped handhelds running GNU-like Linux. The main changes this release are bug fixes and installation instructions for the Cosmo Communicator (see photos).</p><p>Source &amp; docs: <a href="https://github.com/semiprime/pygenda" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">github.com/semiprime/pygenda</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>The old video I keep sharing showing some of Pygenda's features on a Gemini PDA: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvQqFmlZ6nM" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">youtube.com/watch?v=uvQqFmlZ6n</span><span class="invisible">M</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/CosmoCommunicator" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CosmoCommunicator</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/GeminiPDA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GeminiPDA</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/LinuxMobile" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LinuxMobile</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/PDA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PDA</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Psion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Psion</span></a></p>
Matt Lewis<p>I bought a second-hand Cosmo Communicator a few weeks ago for miscellaneous tinkering. One aim was to get Pygenda (my Psion-inspired agenda app) running as well as on the Gemini PDA. It took a bit longer than expected, due to other activities &amp; unanticipated differences between their Debian installs, but it's looking pretty good now.<br><a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/GeminiPDA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GeminiPDA</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/CosmoCommunicator" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CosmoCommunicator</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/LinuxMobile" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LinuxMobile</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/PDA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PDA</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Psion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Psion</span></a><br>(The appointments shown in the photo are not my real agenda - my social life is much less exciting 🙂)</p>
LINux on MOBile<p>While my ASUS C101P is great for subway productivity when seated, I can't use it when standing or on the go. Missing my PinePhone Pro Micro Laptop, I've looked into the <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/CosmoCommunicator" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CosmoCommunicator</span></a> again <a href="https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Planet_Computers_Cosmo_Communicator_(planet-cosmocom)" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Pla</span><span class="invisible">net_Computers_Cosmo_Communicator_(planet-cosmocom)</span></a>. </p><p>Its mainline story is not great sadly, but then it seems to be awfully close in some ways to the <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/MT8183" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MT8183</span></a> that has decent mainline support <a href="https://www.notebookcheck.net/MT8183-vs-Helio-P60_11547_10012.247596.0.html" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">notebookcheck.net/MT8183-vs-He</span><span class="invisible">lio-P60_11547_10012.247596.0.html</span></a>. Obviously, the MT8183 lacks a bunch of stuff the MT6771T has, but ... that might be a starting point, right?</p>
Matt Lewis<p>I've just released v0.3.3 of Pygenda - my WIP <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Psion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Psion</span></a>-inspired agenda app for keyboard-equipped mobile linux devices. Main change is to move to more modern packaging, which should mean less fiddly installation &amp; less work for me. So in theory a good time to try it out.</p><p>Source/docs: <a href="https://github.com/semiprime/pygenda" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">github.com/semiprime/pygenda</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>Video I always share of Pygenda on a <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/GeminiPDA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GeminiPDA</span></a>: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvQqFmlZ6nM" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">youtube.com/watch?v=uvQqFmlZ6n</span><span class="invisible">M</span></a></p><p>Devices it should fit: <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/PinePhone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PinePhone</span></a>+keyboard, <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/GPD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GPD</span></a>, <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/pro1x" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>pro1x</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/EeePC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EeePC</span></a>, <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/n900" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>n900</span></a>, <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Zaurus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Zaurus</span></a>, <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/CosmoCommunicator" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CosmoCommunicator</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/PDA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PDA</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/LinuxMobile" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LinuxMobile</span></a></p>
medvedych<p>Штош, в плане поддержки софта <a href="https://neverwhe.re/tags/cosmocommunicator" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>cosmocommunicator</span></a> еще большее говно чем <a href="https://neverwhe.re/tags/geminipda" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>geminipda</span></a>.
cthululemon<p>Anybody have any imaginative use cases for a Cosmo Communicator? I’ve had one for a few years and don’t really see myself using it as a phone, but it’s powerful enough that it should be able to do something cool…</p><p><a href="https://donkey.social/tags/CosmoCommunicator" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CosmoCommunicator</span></a></p>
