You are misinformed. Bulk billing has actually gone up since Labor took govt. Check the ABS stats and it will show you by how much.

Your view doesn't surprise me though, it is what most Australians are told to believe. Which goes to the point, there is empirical evidence to show that the electorate is grossly ignorant of the progressive social policies Labor has enacted since 2022. Much as it was under the Gillard govt. #CorporateMedia simply doesn't want to tell good stories about the 'wicked lefties'.

To be fair, he has a vision (it might have been covered by the #CorporateMedia once or twice but it was a while ago) and he does talk to the electorate (only covered by the Corporate Media when they have to show up for a PressConf though).

But I agree that most of the coverage the PM is given is as you've tooted. I reckon Labor should address that lacuna. But, for some reason I do not fathom, it cannot or will not.

He does fight too much with the Greens methinks. That is because the Greens are seen to be 'stealing' Labor votes but the PM should be more concerned about 'loosing' votes to the LNP and Independents IMO.

“Many Australians say they are not aware of the Labor government’s key economic achievements and policies, with the latest Essential poll showing Anthony Albanese and Peter Dutton are neck-and-neck with a looming federal election expected to be closely fought on the cost of living.”

If this isn’t concrete evidence that out #CorporateMedia is not doing Labor any favours, then I don’t know what is.

The Guardian · Guardian Essential poll: Labor’s policies appear unknown to voters as major parties neck and neckBy Josh Butler

Polies wouldn’t be airing those crazy policies if the electorate was against those proposals. Political parties use ‘#crime & #punishment’ as a #election platform because they know there are votes in them.

That’s what happens when the public is subjected to piss poor #journalism and don’t bother digging deeper. Wake up Australia and piss #corporatemedia out the door. Subscribe to independent #news media and take a look at what’s really going on.

/i said, getting off my soapbox.

I sincerely believe that the reason the mainstream media gave much less attention to Mastodon than they gave to Threads or BlueSky is because the other two are centralized platforms that can potentially be bought out, whereas Mastodon isn't, which means it undermines their primary agenda of controlling the narrative.

EVERYTHING we’ve been told about Israel is a GIANT LIE! Great article. *Must read* & please boost!

$$$$$$$$$. That’s the reason our polies can’t move on from here. I may rant against journalists from time to time, but by crickey they’re not doing their job - I generalise and in so doing acknowledge there are exceptions - because corporate media (print, digital, radio) monopolies hold their writers to mediocre standards with $$$$$ and job security. Some journos are brainwashed. Some are RWNJs. Some don’t care. Some care too much to see clearly. Most do not apply critical thinking skills to inform those who do not know how.

Go on Tingo, fire a salvo across my bow! I’m ready for it. Show me what journalism should be (nothing personal here, just fed up with #CorporateMedia )
