It’s my birthday, but I now view time by different measures

I crashed so this is belated, but for my birthday/Stonewall anniversary ask, I received over 40 pro-mask messages of people wearing N95 or similar respirators! I think there are even more, I lost count a few times. Thank you SO much to everyone who participated and helped take care of themselves and their communities.

Woohoo!! 🎉 I'm so excited to open up the crowdsourced #IndoorCO2 map and see new data points in North America from someone other than me! 😁

View the map: indoorco2map.com/

If you have a #CO2Monitor like the #Aranet #Aranet4 or #Airvalent, you can help collect data. (From experience I know that if your phone is an Android, you need at least Android 11.)

It is also a major deal because of the hurdles the push for #CleanIndoorAir is facing globally: in the form of stubborn misinformation and confusion about how viruses like #COVID spread, and resistance — including from within the scientific community — to the idea that improving the quality of the air we breathe can bring substantial health and economic benefits. #COVIDIsAirborne mastodon.social/@mackayim2022/

@Billius27 The ratio tells the story. The number of cases (positive test fraction) is three times the average (15.7/4.6 from text description of Figure 3). The number of pediatric hospitalizations is 16 times the average (146/9 from text description of Fig. 9). Sentinels and flu watchers are x2 average or so. Last year saw a (late and low) flu season, so this is our *second* significant flu season since restrictions dropped, but the first since most kids got covid. #N95 #MaskUp #CleanIndoorAir

You indicate yet another reason for the ever increasing staff shortages: besides the covid diseased, disabled and dead, and the ones with a burn out or simply fed up with the huge work pressure, there are also people that are truly conscious of the great risks of getting covid when precautions are utterly lacking.

I sympathise with you.

Only idiots in govt & management are blind to the LT consequences of letting rip.
