"Poppy Field (Giverny)," Claude Monet, 1890/91.

Y'all know Monet by now.

This is one of four poppy-field paintings he did in the area around his home in Giverny. While not really a "series" per se, and they all had different poppy fields, they are now a treasured sight.

Here we have an almost-perfect summer scene...the blooming flowers, the trees in full leaf, the blue sky, and even the forested hill in the background all give a feeling of a lovely summer day.

Happy Flower Friday!

"The Artist's Garden in Giverny," Claude Monet, 1900.

You all know Monet. This is a perfect painting for today; where I am, irises are starting to come out, and I always loved the smell of them. Monet loved his garden and loved painting it, as you can see.

Happy Flower Friday!
