After ten years of shooting with #Fujifilm APS-C cameras, latterly the X-T4, I'm about to switch systems - back to #Nikon. I'm going full frame with the Z8, I think, which makes a lot of sense as I shoot a lot of low light images.
Plus, I want to do a lot more wildlife and bird photography this spring and summer, so will be investing in a 180-600mm zoom lens and relying on a big step up in autofocus performance.
I may go quiet on here for a wee while but I'll be back.

Testing the Lumix DMC FZ80 camera's 60x optical zoom.
I bought this camera secondhand and decided to try it out in Glasgow city near the River Clyde in September 2024.
No tripod was used, I was impressed with the stabilisation when using the 60x zoom.
This is not a great video - in truth I uploaded it to YouTube to start a new account. Later I will be posting my own videos of vintage buses.

That said, #Fuji G-series #digital #sensor is only half of the actual #size of the 645 #negative (and quarter of the size of 690) so I'm not sure if the new digital #rangefinder can replace the old medium format #film #cameras. Of course the sensor size is not the only factor and it's possible to get lot more detail out of digital sensor, but the dreamy feel of a large negative is something that I do miss shooting digital these days. Still very cool #Fuji is creating this camera, as it is teased
#Fuji has good #legacy on #medium #format #fixed #focal #length #rangefinders, their #645, #680 and #690 #cameras have been appreciated, especially in Japan. Always wanted one myself but the availability and #prize in Europe has been less than ideal. Now these cameras are half a century old so replacing them with #digital medium format rangefinder makes a lot of of sense. Especially considering how difficult is to #service and #repair these old #analog cameras.
