Russia launched a Internet information war of memes and messages out of Saint Petersburg in March 2013. At every turn, USA and NATO have lost this information war that was the mental bombardment before the February 2014 Ukraine invasion "hot war". The #ActiveMeasures of delivering #CambridgeAnalytica payloads worked. NATO lost, USA lost hearts and minds to self-harm.

The article also mentions Peter Thiel (CEO of Palantir and chief hater of liberal democracy) having been 'expected' to give testimony, but only as then Facebook board member.

Meanwhile information already exists showing that Thiel directed Palantir employees to work with Cambridge Analytica (subverting democracies in the UK and USA and probably elsewhere too), but *without written agreement* as if he had deliberately tried staying off the hook. Apparently it worked and Thiel (a German immigrant) is still leading the charge to dismantle the United States as a democracy and a republic... Nice.

Meanwhile even European states are doing business with Thiel's Palantir... 🤯

The fallout from that case led to Facebook agreeing to pay a $5.1 billion penalty to settle FTC charges. Now shareholders want Zuckerberg and others to reimburse Meta for the fine and other legal costs, which the plaintiffs estimate total more than $8 billion. Former board member Jeffrey Zientz, in afternoon testimony, says he saw no evidence that Zuckerberg did anything wrong.

That same year, Facebook reached a $100 million settlement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for misleading investors.
