Ok, #Cockpit has now replaced #Webmin for my remote server monitoring and administration if for no other reason than dayum it's lean! Webmin always topped the list as the process consuming the most resources, and Cockpit doesn't even make the list.

i used #fedora #cockpit to set up some #podman containers and it felt really odd. seems to be a useful clickops tool for small installations. maybe it's better for monitoring.

Props to the Cockpit team! I had no idea what I'm doing, trying to aggregate my 2 NIC, figured it's 'Add bond' I want, learned about 802.3ad and let it create that magical bond0 interface. Leap of faith worked out.

The plan is to put all the Google Photos takeout in a local Ente instance running on the 45homelab HL4. The stack is running. I used Houston UI and Portainer-CE for most of the installation work.

The trick was to edit the @ente quick start script to map the volumes and make other changes. I slipped in an exit after generation of .yaml files was complete.

The health check of Postgres took some fiddling as Rocky 8 Podman was using the early syntax.
