Karen Keiller<p>My <a href="https://indieweb.social/tags/ALA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ALA</span></a> (American Library Association) membership is up for renewal. I know they are doing good work to fight for libraries in the United States, a noble and good cause for sure. I’m just not feeling like sending my <a href="https://indieweb.social/tags/Canadian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Canadian</span></a> funds to an “American” organization. At this late stage in my career I’m questioning the ALAs hegemony in Canadian librarianship (eg ALA accredited library program). <a href="https://indieweb.social/tags/CILIP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CILIP</span></a> anyone?</p>
