莹莹<p>Some of my kid&#39;s pet brine shrimp are having a threesome. I did not know this was a thing in the Artemia Salina world.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/nature" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>nature</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/BrineShrimp" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>BrineShrimp</span></a></p>
Simeon Schmauß<p>So a few weeks ago, a relative of mine was looking for a new home for his old ZEISS research microscope. <br>And while I'm not a biologist - I'm a pretty big optics and photography nerd so I obviously couldn't decline the offer. </p><p>Let me take you onto a little journey to the <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/microcosmos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>microcosmos</span></a> 🧵</p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/zeiss" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>zeiss</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/microscope" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>microscope</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/microscopy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>microscopy</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/fruitfly" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fruitfly</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/brineshrimp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>brineshrimp</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/seamonkey" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>seamonkey</span></a></p>

Ricardo Harvin<p>I was always skeptical about so-called <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/SeaMonkeys" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SeaMonkeys</span></a>, thinking that they were probably not animals in any way, but just something that would appear to move in water like an <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/aquatic" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>aquatic</span></a> animal.</p><p>I was correct that &quot;Sea Monkeys&quot; don&#39;t exist, they&#39;re <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/BrineShrimp" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>BrineShrimp</span></a>, and that there was a <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/con" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>con</span></a> involved.</p><p>The &quot;creator&quot; was a <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/whiteSupremacist" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>whiteSupremacist</span></a> who once sold invisible <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/goldfish" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>goldfish</span></a>...</p><p>Every <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/racist" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>racist</span></a> and <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/bigot" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>bigot</span></a> is a <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/ConArtist" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ConArtist</span></a>; their entire <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/philosophy" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>philosophy</span></a> is a <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/scam" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>scam</span></a>.</p><p><a href="https://youtu.be/DTElmUuOAk4" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">youtu.be/DTElmUuOAk4</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
Nicholas Genesjockey<p>This past week I started a <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/brineshrimp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>brineshrimp</span></a> tank. They nominally will serve as a food source for our main fishtank, but also as pets in their own right (in the vein of <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/seamonkeys" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>seamonkeys</span></a>). They don't show up on camera yet (they are only a few days old), but there are A LOT, and I only put a fraction of the cysts recommended for a fraction of the water. I'm excited to see how they grow up!</p>
