A new post on one of my blogs:
The Salute of Tyranny
The Nazi salute was once a symbol of opposition to tyranny and associated with a form of democratic rule. So how did this change?

Thanks to those who read it, I really appreciate it.

I've been learning about using succulents as garden plants to cope with summer drought. (Given review copy, not paid.)

'The Dry Exotic Garden' by Paul Spracklin is a comprehensive look at a style of gardening he's been testing for decades. Advice from what he's learned ranges from design and propagation to plant choice and cultivation.

Arch Enemy Serve Legal Notice to AMG Refusing Payment for Review of Latest Album

By Steel Druhm

Long-running Swedish melodeath institution, Arch Enemy recently served AMG Industries with a legal notice alerting them that the band would not be paying for the review of their latest album, Blood Dynasty, citing dissatisfaction with the mocking tone and the absence of a fanboying score.

After AMG’s Legal Department notified them that payment is only required for scores over 3.5, Arch Enemy’s attorneys forwarded a bill for the use of the band’s image. To justify their monetary demand, the band citied obscure Swedish laws from the 1800s prohibiting the capturing of a human soul via supernatural camera obscura devices.1

At the time of publishing it was unclear if AMG intended to dispute the invoice or simply put the souls of Arch Enemy on the International Spirit Exchange (ISE) at a heavily discounted price.

Newsflash: Metallica claim their next album won’t be anywhere near as good as Load.

Newsflash: Anthrax admit they have no idea how they ended up in the Big Four.

Newsflash: Rob Zombie tagged to play himself in the upcoming White Zombie biopic. Casting for Sheri Moon Zombie to continue despite several setbacks.

Machine Head’s Signature “Shotgun Blast” Whiskey Seized by FDA

By Steel Druhm

Freedom stopped ringing and sales of Machine Head’s new signature “Shotgun Blast” whiskey came to a sudden halt today, as agents of the FDA seized inventory at warehouses and stores across the country in a coordinated operation.

When reached for comment, FDA Spokesman Sean O’Killian claimed the mass seizures were not because the bottles resembled illicit short-barrel shotguns, but due to the whiskey containing unacceptable levels of both Metallica’s “Blackened” brand bourbon and Conor McGregor’s “Proper Twelve” Irish whiskey.

When asked for further clarification, O’Killian elaborated, “These are both dangerously low-grade distillations on their own, but when blended like we see in Shotgun Blast, you get something falling between Agent Orange and prison toilet Prunö. It’s highly toxic, wildly unfit for human consumption, and only useful as a military-grade solvent.”

Efforts by AMG representatives to reach Robb Flynn regarding off-label use of Shotgun Blast as a “Filter solvent” were initially rebuffed.

Newsflash: Transcending Obscurity Records now offering band-specific wedding gowns and morgue scrubs in sizes up to XXXL.

Newsflash: Nightwish collaborate with Tarja Turunen to re-record the Floor Jansen-era albums.
