One weird thing about Bitwarden is that TOTP generation keys aren't always the same for one's log-ins. I had to manually update all of them in order to get accurate 2FA keys to generate; now all my major accounts I registered with my Bitwarden Authenticator phone app are matched with each relevant log-in for desktop and web extension.

Didn't take long to do, but still, that was a weird choice for Bitwarden to not do that seamlessly in the background.

Something super annoying about the #Bitwarden browser extension: For most "normal" entries, you can copy user name, password and 2FA token via the button on the right of the entry (in the vault tab). However, if you happen to have an entry that has **only** a 2FA code but no user name and password, the button copies not the 2FA token, but the **secret** used to generate the token. 🙈

As there are a lot of self-hosters here, I had an issue with the Bitwarden upgrade to 2025.5.0. My license suddenly "expired" and my organization and premium features stopped working.

Have created a github issue here:

github.com/bitwarden/server/is

Be careful updating and do have a backup ofcourse.

Steps To Reproduce Am self-hosting Bitwarden and upgraded to 2025.5.0 this morning. At 12:00 PM mails where sent out for my 3 family organizations that the licenses had expired. They are however va...

Had to assist in an emergency access of a Bitwarden account. This particular access was with the "view" access (in contrast to the "takeover" access). With the takeover access you get to set a new master password for the to be taken over account and so get full access. You can export/import to your own account and perform other mass activities. With the view access, you get just that. No mass activities possible, no export/import. Although it got the job done, manually copy/pasting 200+ password infos was no fun.

In case you setup emergency access, to me only takeover access makes sense. But, nevertheless very glad at least view access was available.
